Baked Gnocchi in Basil Prosciutto Cream Sauce

This is my all time favorite dish right now. I could have this every week. It's such a rich and comforting dish. I found this on Pinterest at The Well Floured Kitchen. I don't make the full recipe, it's too much for my family of 4. I make half the quantity and that is what's written below. Not to mention I add one additional ingredient.

Ingredients
  • 1 pkg. cooked gnocchi
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • 2 Tbsp. Butter
  • 3/3 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. White Pepper
  • 1/8 cup Basil, Chopped
  • 1/8 Lb. Prosciutto, Chopped
  • 1/4 cup Pecorino Romano cheese
  • Panko Bread Crumbs
Instructions
  • Warm cream and butter over medium low heat until butter is melted. Remove from heat and stir in salt, pepper, basil and 1/8 cup cheese.
  • Lightly butter a 8x8 baking dish. Add gnocchi and prosciutto to the dish. Pour cream sauce over. Top with remaining 1/8 cup cheese. Lightly sprinkle Panko bread crumbs over the top.
  • Bake 375° for about 25 minutes or until lightly browned on top. Once cooking is done, turn on the broiler and brown the top until lightly golden. Let sit for 5-10 minutes to set.
My mouth is watering just thinking about this dish. Guess it's time to make it!
