My First Blog Post!

Hi there - well, I'm taking the leap and trying out the blogging world. We'll see how it goes, but I wanted to create a place to share my graphic designs, card & paper craft designs, cooking and any other crafty thing that comes along.
Hope you enjoy, here I go, 1...2...3!!!

  1. Hi Mellisa, Marion James here, Greg James's Mum. It was a nice surprise to see your blog pop up on FB. I am also into crafts, card-making (personalised weddings/birth/and special birhdays)ceramics, knitting amd scrap-booking.Unfortunately I don't have the availability of materials as you do....or as my sister does in Melbourne.I live in London, and there are virtually no 'work-shops', and only the odd store...like Hobby Craft, or shops with a section of craft materials.I shop on line, but really like to see and feel what I am buying. I find those kits you mention too expensive to buy every month as they are shipped from the States, though I think one of my scrap-booking friends(who is American) still occasionally buys them.We lost our scrap-booking mags too, though there is one which has just come on the market via mail or craft shops.I do log on to see lay-outs et., which is cheaper than subscribing. Though I still love to have an actual mag., to read all the articles. When I visited the States in 2007....I went to a store 'Micheals' ??? oh it was like CHRISTMAS....and I stocked up with SO much stuff.I shall be following your blogs and maybe share some of my work.

    1. Wow - what a surprise! My first comment all the way from the UK! I feel so honored. Because I'm so new to all this, not sure how you were able to see my blog on FB. I was actually trying to keep my blog and FB separate, I really don't want bloggers peering into my private life.

On the side of card making, I've been making cards since 1997, but only this year decided to really make it a priority. It's probably more of a way to escape from my kids. I've read the same sort of comments as yours from others in the UK, I do feel fortunate to have more access to supplies. Oh, and yes, Michael's is a great store, I spend too much there.

Thank you for your support and hopefully I can keep my blog up to date. I've only gotten started and it's still a learning process.
